Like most families, we’ve had our share of challenges. Yet we’ve been fortunate. We have worked hard for sure, but we also have had the support of so many. On this site, we hope to do the same. We hope to offer a place that will help people with special needs become their best selves. For now, we’re focusing on organ donation and The Autism Journey. Why? The answer is below. If you’ve got a story to tell and it involves people with special needs, email me at avaeckschoe@gmail.com.

Why organ donation? To say our family has experience dealing with kidney disease would be an understatement. Check out the Organ Donor page to read our story and to learn more about organ donation.

Why The Autism Journey? Both of my brothers were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at a young age. Specialists told my mother they may have to be institutionalized. Instead, David graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.A. in English and a minor in Creative Writing and Kenny is a Junior majoring in Art at the University of North Florida. Rather than read more from me on this topic, David will tell his story and the story of others with ASD (and of their families). Having co-written a novel and five short stories with him (see www.projectrm.com), I have a great deal of experience with his style. Check out The Autism Journey. You’ll enjoy it!
