Neurodivergent voices in front of and behind the camera.

At Eck-Schoe, we create films that feature neurodivergent voices both in front of and behind the camera, telling stories that are as engaging as they are authentic. In practice, this means building inclusive productions from the ground up.

On every production, we collaborate with neurodivergent writers. For certain films (including “Rewind” with David Eckstein-Schoemann), the primary script writer and director is autistic. We authentically cast all neurodivergent performers and include crew who are neurodivergent or have other special needs.

We create environments that respect different communication styles and sensory needs, and approach every story with thought, research, and lived perspective. Our films are shaped by real voices and real experiences, while remaining accessible, emotionally engaging, and rooted in character and heart.

The result is cinema that doesn’t just represent difference; it honors it.

Motion to Reconsider

Short Film · Post-Production

Part of the Love. Outside the Box series. A second chance romance exploring family, forgiveness, and the courage to try again.

A fiercely devoted sister has built her life around caring for her autistic brother, convinced that protecting him means never letting go. But when he begins pushing toward independence, she is forced to confront the possibility that her love may also be holding him back. At the same time, she distances herself from the ex-boyfriend who still wants a future with her, and a place in both of their lives, because she fears her responsibilities will only drag him down. As each relationship reaches a breaking point, she must learn that loving someone does not mean carrying everything alone.

Set in a summer clerkship at a law firm, Motion to Reconsider is a second chance romance that explores caregiving tension, questions about independence, and (as always in Love. Outside the Box) found family.
