Representation & Accessibility Policy
Our approach to representation
The Love. Outside the Box series is written with the belief that people who are autistic should be represented as full, complex humans, including in genres like romance that have historically excluded or stereotyped them.
Our commitment includes:
- Autistic lead and other main characters, as leads, not lessons
- Avoiding savior narratives, tragedy-only arcs, or caricatures
- Treating autism as part of identity, not a problem to be solved
- Reflecting a range of experiences rather than a single “autistic story”
People who are neurodivergent are involved across our creative process, including writing, designing, casting, acting, and crew roles. We are transparent about who is neurodivergent and who is not, and we do not claim to speak for all neurodivergent people.
Our approach to accessibility
- We aim to make Love. Outside the Box as accessible as our resources allow, and we view accessibility as an ongoing practice rather than a finished checklist.
- When possible, we provide: Captions for films and video content; and plain-language communication.
We welcome feedback about access barriers and treat such feedback as valuable information, not criticism.
